Here is my understanding of the true meaning of GIVING THANKS!!It’s all about our hearts: In gratitude, we humbly reflect upon all the gifts (family, friends, health) that saturate our lives. By “giving-thanks” we choose to extend ourselves and give to others less fortunate. Out of the abundance of our hearts, we are able to offer our resources to help others.
Here is a note I just received from Kaiser Hospital where every Monday for 2 hours our MAKE ‘EM SMILE!! program provides entertainment for the kids in the pediatric ward. Our 53 musicians and entertainers volunteer their time at 9 hospitals here in Hawaii 5 days every week!! For the last 6 years, we have put smiles on over 9000 patients…is it hard work, yes…but we, all of us at MAKE ‘EM SMILE!! give thanks that we can do something for these kids that is PRICELESS!!
